Bruschetta from the dip bowl – fresh, juicy and ready in minutes: garlic is mixed directly on the ceramic grater with a touch of olive oil, then you grate ripe tomato onto it to create an intensely aromatic base. Season with salt, pepper, and basil, then spoon onto warm, toasted bread. Bruschetta is perfect as a quick aperitif, for a barbecue, or as a Mediterranean snack in between meals.

Ingredients

1 Serving

  • 1 ripe medium-sized tomato
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • Salt & pepper
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 1–2 slices of toasted bread (e.g., baguette or ciabatta)

Application Tip No. 2

Grate fresh ingredients on a damp grater.

To grate fruits and vegetables such as strawberries and apples, or ginger and garlic, moisten the grater beforehand with a drop of water, oil, lemon juice or similar. It slides better and can be easily removed with a brush.

Preparation

  1. To prepare the bruschetta, lightly moisten your dip bowl. Add a small splash of olive oil to the grater surface and finely grate garlic directly into the dip bowl. Let it sit for 1–2 minutes.
  2. Wash the tomato, halve it, and grate it cut-side down on the grater surface until only the skin remains (discard the skin). This creates the fresh tomato base directly in the dip bowl.
  3. Stir in the remaining olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional balsamic vinegar. Finely chop/tear the basil and fold it in.
  4. Toast the bread. If desired, rub the slices with a halved garlic clove. Spoon the tomato mixture directly from the dip bowl onto the bread and enjoy the bruschetta immediately.

Tip:Top with mozzarella or burrata, a few olives, or capers.
