Perfectly grilled salmon: Juicy, fresh, and aromatic. This grilled salmon with garlic & ginger gets its intense flavor from a spicy marinade and a topping of thin ginger slices. As it grills, the subtle spiciness gently permeates the fish fillet, while a golden crust forms on the outside. Served with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon – a simple summer dish bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

2 servings

  • 2 salmon fillets (approx. 180–200 g each)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3–4 cm fresh ginger
  • Juice of ½ lemon or lime
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey or maple syrup for a touch of sweetness
  • Fresh herbs (coriander or parsley) for garnish

Application Tip No. 2

Grate fresh ingredients on a damp grater.

To grate fruits and vegetables such as strawberries and apples, or ginger and garlic, moisten the grater beforehand with a drop of water, oil, lemon juice or similar. It slides better and can be easily removed with a brush.

Preparation

  1. Freshly grate garlic and ginger into your dip bowland mix with lemon juice, soy sauce, oil, and (optional) honey. Season with salt & pepper.
  2. Place the fillets in the marinade, turn to coat thoroughly, and let marinate for approx. 10–15 minutes.
  3. Before grilling, top the salmon fillets with a few thin slices of ginger – this will infuse additional flavor into the fish during cooking.
  4. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium heat. Place the fillets with the ginger slices on the grill and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until the salmon is cooked through but still juicy inside.
  5. Sprinkle with fresh herbs, serve with lemon wedges, and drizzle with a little marinade if desired.
